Michael, or “Mikey” as he goes by, is one of my favorite linebackers to watch play high school football. He is physical at the point of attack, tackles well in space, and has the versatility to play both H/Move Back and Tight End on offense. But there’s no doubt, his future at the next level is on defense, and his best football overall may be ahead of him.

i was really impressed with Michael, who goes by “Mikey” by most people. At his size, he moved really well as an inside linebacker primarily, and he showed really good coverage skills against backs and tight ends in 1 on 1s. His overall speed and agility were very strong and backup what I’ve seen on film from his All-Conference season last year. I think Mikey is poised to have a big season on defense for the Vikings this year.

I observed Michael this season, and as an outside linebacker/edge player he was a strong physical presence who did a good job setting the edge in the run game in particular. Michael was an All-Conference selection for the Vikings who had over 80 tackles on the season. With his size, he is pissed to breakout even more this upcoming season for a program known for producing good individual defensive players. I’m excited to see how he progresses going into a big senior year.
