Rockwood Middle School had a big 2023 season, winning the Roane County title before falling in the East Tennessee Conference Championship Game. One of the best looking prospects on that team, and obviously in the state, tight end Michael Gibson Michael Gibson 6'4" | 180 lbs | TE Rockwood | 2028 TN is one I really like. Without official measurements, size has to be taken with a grain of salt, but he’s listed at 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds and was a force on the field. Like his pitch and catch partner, his quarterback Aiden Amonett Aiden Amonett 6'3" | 180 lbs | QB Rockwood | 2028 TN , Gibson also plays basketball at an advanced level and was selected to the Anderson/Morgan/Roane County All-Star Game. Right now he may be a little bit of a tweener (WR/TE) in terms of his body composition, but if he starts to hit the weights hard, I think the future is crazy bright for him as a pass-catching tight end.

I hate to use the term “freaky” because I feel that word has lost some of its mystique over the years, but Tennessee tight end Michael Gibson Michael Gibson 6'4" | 180 lbs | TE Rockwood | 2028 TN has that potential. He’s listed at 6-foot-4 and 180 pounds at right now–and while I don’t know if he’s that tall, the kid is a prime-looking athlete. The future Rockwood Tiger can catch, turn and run without any lost speed or momentum. Strong lower body that also gives him an edge in basketball.
