Chavez is a nasty interior mauler that can get immediate vertical push, is strong and physical at the POA and is one of the best available interior guys across the region. He shows he can block inside, pull and kick out when needed and gets to the second level quickly with a violent punch and leg drive through his block progressions. He does a good job using his leverage to get underneath defenders and plays with violent intentions in pass protection as well. He was just offered by San Diego after a solid day at their camp and he could see other FCS schools come in here late and offer through his senior season for Cathedral.
