Michael Chobey, a junior EDGE over at Huntsville, broke out as one of the top pass rushers in the 7A this year.
“Chobey is a dominant run defender- he’s quick off the snap, has violent hands, and has the speed, leverage, and strength to consistently work around OL and get to the ball carrier for stops. Chobey plays with relentless effort and is a reliable tackler who makes a lot of impressive plays in pursuit, sometimes working from across the field to make plays.
On passing downs, Chobey has similar success. He’s an efficient pass rusher who generates tons of pressure, forces bad decisions, and racks up sacks nearly every time the quarterback drops back.“
Chobey was unstoppable for Huntsville this year, racking up 50 total tackles (31 solo, 18.5 for loss), 14.5 sacks, 6 hurries, 4 PBUs, and 2 FRs.
