Last checked in on the Top100 Upper St. Clair prospect back when we were dissecting the 2025 linebacker class. At that point, Michael Albert Michael Albert 6'3" | 240 lbs | LB Upper St. Clair | 2025 State PA had offers from Cornell, UPenn, Princeton, and Dartmouth under his belt.
Checking in again after two-three months have past, the elite backer prospect has more than doubled his offer count. FCS programs have zeroed in on Albert’s skillset, with Lehigh, Columbia, Brown, and Colgate inquiring in the form of scholarship offers. Maine, Richmond, and Furman are also included on the long list of potential suitors. I have questions, how special were Albert’s April trips to Dartmouth, Princeton, and Cornell? Are these three programs ahead in terms of the race to secure Albert’s talents? Another question, can Albert break into the Group Of Five scene? I’ve witnessed crazier things happen, an elite first-three tape released by Albert could have MAC programs calling in need of a top ten backer talent. Excited to see it all unfold.

There are some stud athletes littered across the 2025Top100. I’m serious when I say you might not find a more well-rounded, more physically gifted young man than Upper St. Clair’s Michael Albert Michael Albert 6'3" | 240 lbs | LB Upper St. Clair | 2025 State PA . Let’s put football aside for a minute. Elite skills in the classroom, posts a 4.1 GPA. Elite skills in the weight room, racking up insane numbers on the B/S/D, totals over 1,500 pounds. Weighs in at a cut and chiseled 245 pounds, all the while he can jump a 32 inch vert and a post a 9’3 broad. A specimen who picked up his first of four Ivy League opportunities shortly after being ranked inside our Top100. Albert posts a 5-minute junior tape that fully encompasses the all around ATH he is. First rep has Albert aligned at your traditional EDGE position, in a three-point stance. Next rep, you’ve got Albert working head-up on the center at a traditional partial-shading NG. One of the tougher defenders to lock arms on, Albert blends the athleticism of a TE/LB with unreal trench-prospect power. Yes, Albert is clearly dominating as a front-four man in this tape, yet I’m still enamored with his projection to the LB position at the next level. Albert is continuing to pile on good muscle/beef, if his weight continues to rise, I’d be forced to re-evaluate him as a real EDGE/DE prospect. For now, I still think the kid projects to LB. Stud ATH.

Michael is undoubtedly a college prospect with significant potential. He exhibits a high level of physicality on both offense and defense. I particularly admire his abilities as a tight end/h-back. He excels as a physical run-blocking tight end, capable of delivering powerful collisions. Michael demonstrates good quickness off the line of scrimmage and maintains relentless effort until the whistle blows. I observed an impressive play where he showcased his receiving skills and promptly advanced north-south after the catch. On the defensive side, he thrives as a physical linebacker, effectively engaging and disengaging from blockers. He consistently displays a strong work ethic and excels as a physical tackler overall. Presently, Michael has garnered attention from some FCS programs, and he will undoubtedly be a player to watch closely this season.

Self lists between 6’2-6’3, 210 pounds. An intriguing build combined with quality sophomore reps on tape, this kid could be a prime candidate for early looks from potential collegiate suitors. Outstanding hand placement when blocking at TE. So much so that he serves as a primary blocker often aligning strong-side. The tape trickles into LB reps that show off his ability to track ball carriers down the LOS. The tape shows some pass-catching reps too, an ideal football player to have on your side. Can’t go without mentioning Albert’s prowess at FB. The young man can be aligned in the backfield, off-set if need be, and provide lead-blocking if called upon. Seen flattening kids too. Love this kid’s game.
