About Mekhi

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style as smart, physical, and disciplined. I play with high energy, but I’m also patient and calculated. As a cornerback, I study my matchups, trust my technique, and take pride in locking down my side of the field. I’m physical at the line when I need to be, but I also have the awareness to read the quarterback and break on the ball. I don’t just rely on speed, I rely on preparation.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a focused and disciplined athlete who believes in leading by example. I stay consistent with my effort on and off the field, and I don’t make excuses I just put in the work. I’ve always been coachable and humble, but I stay hungry to improve. I know talent matters, but I believe hard work and consistency matter more. No matter what’s going on around me, I stay locked in.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Last year I helped my dad coach a youth football

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through football and academics, I’ve developed strong leadership and teamwork skills that carry over into every part of my life. As a varsity athlete since my freshman year, I’ve learned how to lead by example by staying disciplined, showing up early, holding myself accountable, and keeping my team locked in during tough moments.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is staying focused and consistent while dealing with personal and family pressures. There were times when things weren’t easy at home whether it was financial stress or just trying to keep everything balanced. But even when things got heavy, I never let it become an excuse. I used it as motivation.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that feels like a true fit somewhere I can grow as both a student and an athlete. Academically, I want a school that takes education seriously and supports students who are committed to their goals. I plan to major in Kinesiology, so a strong program in health sciences or sports medicine is important to me.
