Michael Huntley | Prep Redzone Scout
Madsen ran for 1238 yards and 19 touchdowns this season for Clovis North and had a pair of receiving touchdowns.
He stands out when you see him in person, even among top prospects. He projects as a linebacker at the college level or a full back. As a running back, he’s a punishing downhill runner who has surprising speed when you watch him run sweeps in Clovis North’s offense.

Madsen’s recruiting exploded this past offseason as he finally got the recruiting attention he deserves. At 6’2” 230 lbs. he’s a hard-nosed defender with great natural instincts and anticipation skills. Extremely active, he hunts down ball carriers using his speed and burst to close to make plays sideline to sideline. Plays downhill and physical to be a violent tackler when filling run lanes finishing through contact to be a heavy striker at the POA. Flashes great feel for the game and awareness to put himself in position to be a difference maker. Possesses a wide skillset that could transition to multiple positions at the major D1 level. Also one of the top track and field athletes in the country winning state titles in both the shot put and discus. One of the top 2025 uncommitted prospects in the state holding 19 D1 offers. Just took an official visit to Oregon who has a high probability of landing him but BYU and UCLA are also in his top three.

Madsen has been one of the more prolific athletes across the state of California since his Junior season, and is a no brainier power fie caliber linebacker at the next level, and is a do it all player for Clovis North. The national recruit has been on an absolute tear so far in his final prep season, and had another big night in the opening round against a tough Sanger squad. He rushed for just under 200 yards and 2 scores while adding some receiving work as well. The always tough to tackle ball carrier is one of the more violent and punishing runners the region has seen in recent memory, and Madsen will look to lead the Broncos again tonight in a huge match-up against central.

Madsen has been one of the top players across the state of California for the past two seasons, and is truly one of the best two-way guys in the state that is a no brainer high level power four caliber kid. He has already racked up almost 20 offers and seems to be a heavy Oregon lean at this point in the process. The national recruit has been manning the backfield and linebacker core for Clovis North, he has had a tremendous start to his Senior year and had a big showing Friday night where he rushed for 3 scores and had 2 INT’s and a fumble recovery against Buchanan, a game Clovis North won 51-14. Madsen has already racked up 750 yards on the ground and 13 touchdowns so far this year and is a definite candidate for State Player of the Year once again.

The Clovis North prospect is one of the top northern California prospects, and is really starting to blow up on the recruiting trail picking up his first offer from Washington State, with others likely to follow suit soon. He is a two-way starter for one of the top teams in the state, and a true banger at mike backer that plays violent and covers ground outside the tackles. At running back, he is a physical and downhill blocker that looks for contact, runs tough behind his blocks and has some under rated third level long speed as well. Look for the CN prospect to continue to rise up our ranks in the following updates.
