About Mayson

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe it as a fast, kind of freestyle style. When moving throughout the field I feel very controlled but also very in my own world. This sport is art so I make it my own kind of style.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

When I’m on the field, I’m out there to work. I love leading my teammates to what they can do at their full potential. I love talking to my coach’s and in general love talking to people. But when it’s time to work, it’s time to work. Leadership is a big part of this position and I feel like I strive here.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Just working out so I can get stronger for the upcoming season. I played basketball this last year but don’t know if I’m going to do it again due to the love I have for this sport.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have very good social and leadership skills. I love talking to people and making my elders respect me while there getting respect as well. While leading my teammates, I feel as if they listen to what I say and I listen to what they say. Talking to my coach’s about my leadership skills is very important for the team and of course myself.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I am only a freshman this year but this last season I had some varsity minutes. At practices I am very dedicated to the team and have an opportunity to go to many camps this offseason to get better to try to earn a starting varsity spot. I stay in the gym and think about all I could do this season.

What type of college are you looking for?

Any college. I just want the opportunity to play college football.

The sole QB representative of the 2028 class I saw on Saturday, Drake, stood out as an athlete who is far further along in his development as a QB than most kids in his class. Hailing from a run-dominant system, Drake touts a smooth release and flashes high-level ball placement across all levels of the field. At his best, Drake will hit excellent back-shoulder fades with the ball placed just outside of the defender’s reach, while also leading the receiver perfectly. Drake has a few years of development before he reaches the varsity level, but by the time he gets there, he’s going to be a prospect that should turn a lot of heads.
