Oliver West | Prep Redzone Scout
If you haven’t been paying attention, Rockford High School, located NW from Minneapolis and sandwiched in-between Montrose, Delano, and Hanover, has putting out some really fun prospects since 2020, with the likes of Bradley Graunke, Harrison Brun, Will Graunke, Tim Houghton, and Wes Overton keeping a major spotlight on the Class AAA competitor throughout the years, but in 2026, it’s Maxwell Ladman Maxwell Ladman 5'11" | 160 lbs | DB/QB Rockford | 2027 MN & co’s turn. The rising senior has solidified himself as a must-rank prospect after second evaluation of his junior film, so stay tuned to see where Ladman lands on the Big Board in the next couple days.
The 5’11, 160 lber. opens his tape with a very unique first rep that saw Ladman completely sacrifice the body while going airborne – so airborne, in fact, that he was completely parallel to the ground – while clearing and jumping a defender right over the top of him, head first. Oh yeah, and he got the first down! The QB/DB/ATH is a twitchy, elusive, potent scrambling and rushing threat from the QB position – easily glides and skirts by tackle attempts thanks to his excellent footwork, loose hips, and contact balance.
As a SAF, he runs the alley with speed, intent, and effectiveness, cutting down RBs and minimizing gains to a yard or two out on the edge and in 1v1 settings, and he displays sideline-to-sideline pursuit speed and range, and he’s a strong, confident 1v1 tackler who can hang around the box and handle run defense duties if needed. Plus, he proved himself to be dangerous as a punt returner as well. DIIIs, NAIAs, JUCOs, be on notice! Hopefully, we’ll be Ladman at the upcoming PRZMN Spring Showcase on April 18th in Plymouth.
