This was my first time watching this guy in person in game action, and he lived up to all of my expectations. A great get off, great bend and tremendous speed and power allows him to be an effective pass rusher on all downs against all different kinds of tackles. He has a toolbox full of pass rush moves, and has the sheer strength to knock tackles off balance and get into the backfield quickly. He’s a tackle machine that definitely made his presence felt all night even when things weren’t going their way. Great performance by him, Charlotte is getting a good one!

Tall, long prospect with huge potential at the next level. Already with several Division 1 offers, Maximus could easily play EDGE or TE at the next level.
I especially like his potential as an EDGE rusher. 1:33 on his tape shows a great stop from the backside. The play was too slow for a high-motor defender like Maximus. Similarly, 1:15 shows really great motor stopping the outside run. Love a defensive lineman with the motor to go way outside the hashes and still make a play.
Of course, it his size helps him tremendously. Height gives him an edge against similarly sized offensive lineman, while his length extends his tackle radius and keeps those longer-armed linemen away. In college, especially at the Division 1 level, all you’ll see are big, long-armed tackles. Would love to see Maximus develop into a great EDGE, or even TE.

Fresh off of a surgery, there’s a chance a lot of people have forgotten how dominant of a player this kid can be. Maximus is a DE/TE with elite size and physical traits. He can catch or block and line up just about anywhere, which is a huge advantage for a TE. Defensively he’s a high effort and high motor kid with long arms and the ability to pull mutiple moves. There isn’t a ton of film out there, but with his elite characteristics, I think this could be a sleeper for a giant boost to his stock.

Max is another Waterford Mott player whom I expect a breakout season from. Playing both EDGE and TE, Max was an excellent two-way player who has a very high ceiling on both sides of the football. Defensively, Max plays with phenomenal effort and play speed. I would like to see better use of hands, but the effort is 100% there. His measurables also give major upside and a very wide tackle radius. Offensively, there isn’t much tape there but I’ve heard from coaches that he’s more than capable in that department. With a bit more muscle and experience, Max could earn another boost.

I think I’ve actually wrote about this player before, but it’s worth doing again now that we’ve reached the offseason. He has clearly put in the work to get better, and it is definitely showing. According to his twitter bio, he’s up to 6’6 230, so he has put on 10 more pounds and another inch since we last checked in. It seems that he has made the transition to defensive end and it looks like he is fitting comfortably! He does a nice job of staying home, not getting too far up field, and fighting through blocks to make sure tackles. All the physical tools are there so I am excited to see how he develops over the coming couple of years!
