About Max

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I take pride in not only catching the ball but blocking and playing physical when I don't have the ball in my hands. My strengths are my size and hands and ability to catch the ball in traffic and use my size to my advantage. I have good off the line speed and ability to seperate from the DB. I also have good in game speed and have broken off mulitple long TD's this year with break away speed.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I enjoy the process of going to practice and working as hard as I can. I look forward to putting in even more time and work at the next level and doing whatever I can to help my team have success. I try and be as coachable as possible, and I try and get better everyday.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved with our off season flag football program that takes place at our school on the weekends. I've both coached and officiated the younger kids. I find it rewarding, and it helps me as an athlete when it comes to communicating with our coaches as an athlete. I have won mulitple awards in the past, such as the league wide impact award in juniors baseball(age 13-14).

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have played on the varsity team since my sophmore season, was one of only two players who was called up. I take pride in being a captain on our team this year, which is voted on by our team. I try and lead by example, and I enjoy motivating my teammates both on and off the field.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have played through injuries, as well as having to earn playing time when I was an underclassman. It would have been easier to just stay playing with my grade level but welcomed the challenge of move up a level and earning both playing time as well as the respect of the upperclassmen who were on my team at the time.

What type of college are you looking for?

I feel like I am a division 1 athlete. I'm looking for a school which is a good fit for both my academic interests as well as giving me the ability to reach my potential athletically.
