Max Pelfrey Max Pelfrey 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Hazard | 2025 State KY has has a strong start to his senior season and continued to impress this past week, leading Hazard to a blowout win over Paintsville. Pelfrey completed 14/19 passes for 241 yards and four touchdowns. Max showed an impressive ability to escape pressure while keeping his eyes down the field to make tough throws on the run. He also showed the arm strength to stretch the field in the deep passing game. Pelfrey also led his team in rushing with four carries for 64 yards and a touchdown. Max doesn’t currently hold any offers but he should be a player to keep an eye on during his senior year.

Coming in at number five on my list is Max Pelfrey Max Pelfrey 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Hazard | 2025 State KY , a quarterback at Hazard High School. In addition to excellent versatility, Pelfrey impresses me with his ability to complete the short pass and quickly release the ball under pressure. Pelfrey also showcased his ability to complete the deep pass, hitting his receivers in stride deep in enemy territory.

With two full seasons as the Bulldogs’ starting quarterback already under his belt, this rising junior seems poised to establish himself as one of the more fundamentally sound signal callers to emerge from this region in quite some time. While his measurables and overall athleticism certainly prove well suited for the position, what really separates Pelfrey from other “above average” talents are his throwing mechanics, his footwork and his ability to sense pressure while keeping his eyes downfield. He demonstrates more than sufficient arm strength to make all throws on the passing tree, but his technical proficiency really shines when he is forced to step up, evade an initial rusher or otherwise reposition his launch point.
