2027 quarterback Max Gipson Max Gipson QB Bishop Kelley | 2027 OK returns as QB1 of the Comets and we’re really looking forward to seeing what kind of growth he’s had as a passer in the last nine months. At this time last year, Gipson was getting ready to start for the Comets for the first time. He had a solid first season, throwing for nearly 2,000 yards as a junior. Now, he’s looking to elevate Bishop Kelley’s offense up a notch or two. Gipson is known around campus as a terrific baseball prospect and that might be what his future holds. But he has the potential to be one of the better quarterbacks in the Tulsa area.

Junior quarterback Max Gipson Max Gipson QB Bishop Kelley | 2027 OK comes into this season as a first year starter at quarterback. As we mentioned earlier in the preview, Bishop Kelley’s coaches have already been very positive about Gipson’s potential and the impact he could end up having this season. He’s a terrific baseball player so you know the arm strength and overall talent is going to be there. Gipson is a player that we simply don’t know much about but he’s certainly a candidate to have a breakout season. If the Comets and more specifically, their skill players stay healthy, Gipson could end up having a big season. And if he’s able to produce at a high level, the Comets will be in a great position in Class 5A.
