About Mavric

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Powerful, physical lineman with quick, violent hands and strong lower-body drive. Patient and disciplined in pass protection, with excellent blitz recognition and pickup. An aggressive run blocker and true mauler who dominates the line of scrimmage and finishes every play through the whistle.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I bring a balance of patience and controlled aggression, staying focused and physical every play. I’m confident in my abilities, encourage my teammates, and will line up against anyone, anywhere to help the team win. I approach every rep expecting to dominate and stay eager to learn and improve every day.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes. I’m a member of my school’s choir and my church’s youth program. I volunteer with the Kern County Law Enforcement Foundation, which supports local officers and their families through scholarships and community programs, and with the Kern County Cancer Foundation, which helps cancer patients access treatment and care.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through football, I’ve learned the importance of teamwork, discipline, and accountability, both on and off the field. Being part of my school choir has helped me build confidence. Volunteering with the Kern County Law Enforcement Foundation and Kern County Cancer Foundation has strengthened my sense of service and compassion, teaching me the value of giving back to my community.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My biggest challenge was getting a late start in football. My first real experience playing was my freshman year. I see that as a positive, though, because it gives me a higher ceiling and more room to grow. Every season, I’ve made big strides, and I’m driven to keep improving and mastering my craft.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with a strong football program and a competitive, team-first culture, where I can continue to develop as a player and as a student. I value good coaching, accountability, and an environment that pushes me to grow on and off the field.

Byrd is another nasty blocker that can play multiple positions along the offensive front and has finish abilities downfield and is one of the top lineman in the central valley that has been criminally under-recruited. He is a natural bender in and out of his stance and can pull across the line, scrape to the second level to cutoff linebackers and edge players and should be drawing plenty of college attention here soon. He is strong and powerful at the point of attack that does a nice job using leverage and bend, especially for his size and checks most all boxes for the FCS/FBS level. There should be plenty of Big Sky plus schools that come in and offer through his senior season and someone is going to get a very nice steal late in the process.
