We got our live eval on Matthew just over three weeks ago and it didn’t take me long to see why Matthew was a top 60 prospect in this class that is super under the radar linebacker out of Webster Area. If you want a 6’0 220+ linebacker that brings that thumper mentality when he makes contact, plays with a high motor, and has smooth pursuit angles getting to the ball carrier, Matthew should be a fit for your program at the next-level. He came away as our LB MVP at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase and checks into our rankings as our LB6 in the final rankings. Big time sleeper in this 2026 that grades out a D2 prospect in my eyes.

The only 2026 propsect we had as an MVP at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase, was Webster Area’s  Matthew Mount Matthew Mount 6'0" | 223 lbs | LB/RB Webster Area | 2026 State SD  who had a strong senior season for the Bearcats. The 6’0 223 pounder, certainly passed the eye test from the jump to play linebacker at the next-level and his play backed it up too. Matthew showed off great instincts and locked in vision during Indy drills and you could tell the fluidity and motor were wired from start to finish in the chunk of reps I was able to watch on Sunday in Aberdeen. He was a linebacker that you could tell thru coaching, relished every opportunity hitting on the small details. You also could not miss on the big motor Matthew brought out on every rep there was on Sunday. The All-Stater has great vision at the point of attack and surely is deserving of some offers coming his way hopefully very soon.
