About Matthew

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Intense, focused and tough. Aware of the whole field yet able to zero in and find the holes for tackles. Multi-sport player with intense mentality in each sport.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Focused, thrives on improvement and excellence, thinker and humble

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Involved in youth group leadership

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I continue to work on being the best teammate--arriving early, staying late to help with set up and tear down. I value the members of my team and remain open to their feedback and work to encourage them in all things. I have a steady composure and feel this brings a calming presence to my team, classmates, family and friends.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have faced injuries and have had to learn to let my body talk to me. I had to learn that rest was a good thing and how to balance that in my athletics but also life.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college that has a solid athletic program but values investing in my academics as well. I am looking at Agri-Business and/or Wildlife Management and would like to have a program that provides these programs.
