About Matthew
Expert Analysis
Scott Burgess | Prep Redzone Scout
Brady has excellent size at 6’4″ 200 pounds. Big and physical signal caller that has a beautiful deep ball. Hits his back foot and lets it fly. Drops ball right in the bucket. Good on intermediate routes. At times he kind of guides it, but when he lets it rip he is really good. Like him as a runner especially in goal line and short yardage situations on designed plays.

made the trip in from Illinois and put together a very impressive performance. He showed off an impressive deep ball, showing the ability to lead his receivers down the field and put the ball where only they could catch it. Brady also showed an impressive quick release in the short passing game, hitting his receivers out of their breaks where they can make catches in stride. Matthew has received some Division I interest and I can see some offers coming his way soon.

is an out-of-state prospect that I’m excited to watch on Sunday. When watching his film, his big arm stands out the most as he has shown the ability to lead his receivers down the field with ease. He has also shown the ability to scramble outside the pocket while keeping his eyes down the field to make throws on the run. Brady doesn’t hold any official offers yet but he has started to pick up some interest this offseason.

Was the most consistent of all the young quarterbacks. Traditional pocket passer, not much of a runner. Throws with good touch on the deep ball and anticipation in short/intermediate game. Has a quick release. Needs to improve footwork but has a high ceiling.

Another must-know QB name with regional and potentially national implications and tidal waves, it’s hard not to think Bloomington native and Central Catholic High School‘s budding 6’4, 190 lb. star of a QB

isn’t on the cusp of FBS and/or P4 attention. During the summer camp circuit, Brady’s size seemed to catch the eye, and the arm talent kept it. Brady’s arm pops, with a compact throwing motion, tight spiral, and a ton of natural zip on the ball, and he competed well at Ole Miss, Mizzou, Nebraska, Iowa State, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Illinois State camps in what was a whirlwind of a June for the sophomore gunslinger.
In non-varsity action last fall, Brady demonstrated that he will stand in the pocket and deliver balls downfield with accuracy through big hits and oncoming contact, has a big arm that can stretch the field vertically, and can throw with accuracy all around the field. His long legs and speed as a ball carrier help him turn the corner on defenders, and he displayed some quickness and suddenness with the ball in-hand, plus, he’ll run behind his pads and run defenders over as well. Brady also shows some good reps as an OLB defeating blocks, pursuing and closing with pace, and tackling with physicality. I think this offseason has been a productive and potentially monstrous one for the Bloomington native, and we are going to see him reap the rewards once fall camp rolls around. Brady currently weighs in as our #17 overall prospect and #5 QB in the budding 2027 class. Keep an eye on this QB, folks.

is a rare athlete at the quarterback position, standing at 6’4″ and weighing 190 pounds, paired with impressive top-end speed. He is primarily a passer, consistently looking to push the ball downfield to his receivers and hitting them in stride. However, his running ability is also a real threat, as his large frame allows him to lower his shoulder for extra yards. Brady possesses the tools to be the total package at the quarterback position. He has had a busy offseason, standing out during his 7-on-7 season as well as in various camps. Brady is already on colleges’ radar, and don’t be surprised if he picks up his first offer sooner rather than later.

A 6’5″ 190 lbs freshman QB is destined to garner recruiting attention early in their careers. Matthew warrants it because the big body is loaded up with talent as a passer. He has budding arm strength that not only allows him to attack all three levels from the pocket, in rhythm, but also while under pressure or when he doesn’t have time to get his feet set. The big man also brings a surprising level of speed once he breaks the pocket. Speed to break off game changing runs. The big framed freshman also plays LB on defense, and he doesn’t shy away from physicality there or when finishing his runs at QB.

This Midwest Bucks QB is everything a coach could dream of in a quarterback. He possesses the perfect combination of size, professionalism, and athleticism. Matthew stands tall and takes command on the field. His passes travel in straight lines with pinpoint accuracy. He throws effortlessly, and I watched closely to see if he would flinch, but he didn’t. Combined with his attention to detail and great throwing mechanics, he is an offensive coordinator’s dream. Matthew is built like a pro. When he walked into the facility, all eyes turned to him. This kid is something special. I’m excited to follow him on this journey and watch him terrorize opponents for the next three years!

Matthew Brady is poised to be a standout player in the upcoming years. Despite being only a freshman, he already possesses all the essential tools to become a top-tier quarterback in the coming seasons. With an impressive blend of size and athleticism, Brady embodies the qualities coaches seek in a quarterback. Notably, he clocked one of the top 40-yard dash times at 4.69. As he further refines his passing skills, expect Brady to make a significant impact and garner attention in the years ahead.

There is lot of raw upside in the 6’3″ 180 lbs freshman QB. The big bodied QB is an imposing runner when he decides to tuck it away and run. He won’t hesitate to lower the shoulder and punish defenders in his path. The true potential resides in his right arm. Matthew has natural arm strength to attack deep down the field, and he has the aggressive mindset on tape to use it. I was impressed to see him also use good touch and accuracy on those deep passes. He has control over the ball, and doesn’t just send it downfield. The tools are there to be molded over the next 4 years. Brady also plays OLB on defense.
