About Matteo

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a power and quick running back, my gameplay style is a dynamic blend of strength and quickness. I use my power to break through tackles and push for extra yardage in tough situations, often driving through defenders. At the same time, my speed allows me to hit the gaps quickly and explode into open space, making it hard for defenders to catch me. I pride myself on my ability to shift gears.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

As a strong, dedicated football player, my mentality is built on resilience, discipline, and relentless work ethic. I approach every practice and game with a commitment to constant improvement, always striving to be better than I was the day before. My focus is on pushing through physical and mental challenges, knowing that perseverance is key to success on the field.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I'm involved in high-intensity off-season training with Lance Long, which helps me stay in peak physical condition and improve my performance on the field. This training focuses on strength, speed, and agility, giving me an edge when it comes to handling the demands of football. It also reinforces my dedication to constant improvement and resilience during the off-season.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

As the team captain of my football team, I've developed key leadership and teamwork skills. Leading by example, I’ve learned how to motivate my teammates, foster a sense of unity, and build trust on and off the field. Being in this role has enhanced my ability to communicate effectively, ensuring everyone is aligned toward the same goals. It’s taught me to handle pressure and maintain composure.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college that is dedicated and disciplined, both academically and athletically. I want an environment that values hard work, perseverance, and integrity—qualities that align with my personal commitment to constant improvement. Ideally, the college would have a strong football program that emphasizes discipline and teamwork.

Matteo is a workhorse for Rochester Adams. He fits within this Veer offense flawlessly as their main between-the-tackles “first read” running back. I’ve watched two games this season where Matteo took on a large workload and consistently made the most of his carries.

He’s a pure power back. That said, Matteo isn’t extraordinarily agile and isn’t a major threat to break explosive runs. He will do his job, and he will do it very well.
