All things considered there might not have been a single prospect whose stock jumped the most was

. Something of a rarity in today’s game, Maietti is a dual-threat tight end where the argument can be made that his blocking prowess is as-good-or-better-than his receiving skills. It all begins with his feet. A consistent, unwavering base is paired with short, choppy steps. Additionally, Maietti works his hands inside. However, what might surpass all of this is how he is able to bend and get low. The result is Maietti being able to take defenders wherever he wants to on the field. It is evident that he takes pride in his run blocking abilities. Maietti has a quick arc release which parlays into quick reach blocks as well. Maietti is committed to Army.

- A tight end who loves to, enjoys, and takes pride in his blocking prowess
- Some of the best short, choppy steps I have seen on film when run blocking
- Consistently gets hands inside chest of EDGE assignment, avoids penalties; bends well and gets low to win
- Used as a sniffer, kick out, and in-line blocker
- If he cannot hook along the perimeter, will wrangle his way to a win
- Arch release is very quick; able to sell it as a route release and reach his second-level assignment, often fooling them
- More of an “effort” blocker than “positional” blocker
- No highlights of him being targeted as a receiver or split out

. As Maietti enters his senior year, he has garnered some SEC interest. Back in early April Maietti announced via twitter that he received his first offer out of the Southeastern Conference compliments of Vanderbilt. A highly regarded academic college, it will be interesting to see how his Maietti’s recruitment plays out the rest of the way with a big offer at-hand.

Matt Maietti is a standout tight-end prospect from Don Bosco with a unique skill set that sets him apart. Standing at 6’5” and weighing 250 pounds, Mayotte excels as a blocker, showcasing exceptional technique and leverage in both the run and pass-blocking game. His ability to stay low throughout his reps, generate power from his lower half, and block with precision makes him a versatile asset on the field.Mayotte’s blocking highlights demonstrate his ability to block on the run, from various alignments effectively, and against different types of defenders, including corners, linebackers, and edge players. He plays like an extra lineman, contributing significantly to his team’s ground game and pass protection. While Maietti doesn’t have many pass-catching highlights, his best role is likely as a possession tight end, making key catches for first downs and in the red zone. His blocking prowess and versatility make him a valuable asset in any offensive scheme. With his recent Power 5 offer from Vanderbilt, Maietti is an ascending prospect who could draw attention from coaches at the next level, particularly due to his fit in systems that prioritize blocking tight ends, such as that of head coach Sean McVay’s Los Angeles Rams.
