A prospect that I saw compete live, in-person about a year ago at the Trenchlab Gauntlet competition,

has been on my radar since then and had a great senior season. As an offensive tackle, Kaelble knows when to turn his pass set into a drive block to keep the pocket clean. I was pleasantly surprised how he was able to maintain his bend as he back pedaled in his pass set too. Additionally, Kaelble varies his pass protection technique as I noticed him apply the clamp technique. His foot speed remains an asset as we see him effectively slide protect too. In terms of a run blocker, Kaelble will level and flatted defenders who dip and try to get low. Lastly, I noticed his strength as he was able to kill a rip move.

is a 6’4”, 280-pound offensive lineman with one standout trait that immediately jumps off his tape—his exceptional grip strength. Once Matt gets his hands on a defender, it’s nearly impossible for them to shed his block. His ability to lock onto opposing linemen and neutralize them makes him highly effective in pass protection, where he uses his arm length and hand placement to win quickly at the start of reps.
While Matt excels with his upper-body strength and hand usage, he’s a developmental prospect who has room to grow in other areas. Improving his overall athleticism and foot speed will be key for him to handle more athletic edge rushers at the next level. If he can enhance his lateral quickness and agility, he has the potential to be a much more complete lineman.
Currently, Matt is without any offers, but his combination of size, length, and work ethic makes him a promising project for programs looking to develop linemen with raw tools. With his willingness to improve and his natural grip strength, Matt has the foundation to become a valuable asset for the right team.

The Trenchlab Gauntlet’s first ever champion, who took home an awesome belt and $1500 in NIL money, was Egg Harbor Township’s

. Kaelble has all the physical makings to be a solid college prospect. He has a big, strong, lean body with room to add good weight to and also has a huge back. Throughout the event Kaelble kept himself chest-to-chest with his matchup, making sure they were stonewalled at nearly every moment. Kaelble also gets into his kickstep with low hands. Perhaps what made Kaelble successful was that he rode people upfield and allowed his matchup to either take themselves out of the play or drive them back upfield to re-established a clean pocket. Congrats Matt!
