Thomas is a true edge rusher who shows a variety of skills and tendencies you look for in a solid defensive end. He fires off the ball using his speed and length alone to beat opposing tackles, he stays true to his assignments, and does a good job of reading and recognizing the play. his quick first step allows him to crash down inside the tackles and propel himself into the backfield. He does a good job of creating a bracket and containing the play while protecting his edge, he is there for clean up if his teammates miss a tackle in the back field and he always trails the paly instead of pursuing from the top down. He shows some awareness in his pass rushing as he racked up a handful of swatted passes this past season.
