About Marcus
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
As a right guard, my gameplay style is about being physical and dependable. I focus on protecting my quarterback, creating running lanes, and being the steady presence my teammates can count on to hold the line and keep the offense moving.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I play with discipline, toughness, and a team-first mindset. My mentality is to protect, lead by example, and be the glue that keeps the offense strong. Off the field, I’m passionate about leadership, political work, and networking. Being involved in student government, honor societies, and community organizations has shaped me into a communicator and leader who thrives on respon
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
Yes, I’m very involved in multiple clubs and organizations. I serve as President of Marion High School FBLA, Chairman of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, President of Jobs for American Graduates SC, and I’m a member of the National Honor Society and National English Honor Society. I’ve also held leadership roles in JROTC, Student Government, and founded ‘My Brother’s Keeper’ mentoring program.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Through my roles in FBLA, Student Government, JROTC, and community service, I’ve developed strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. Founding ‘My Brother’s Keeper’ and serving as Youth Mayor of Marion have taught me the importance of responsibility and giving back. These experiences help me bring discipline, accountability, and a team-first mindset on and off the field.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
One of my biggest challenges growing up was discipline. While I always respected my teachers and staff, I struggled to stay focused until I found football, which taught me accountability and responsibility to my teammates. Now I’m a straight-A student with zero referrals, committed to leading by example on and off the field.
What type of college are you looking for?
I’m looking for a college that truly fits my needs as both a student and an athlete. I’m not focused on just the D1 label I value a program that offers strong academic opportunities, personal growth, and a team atmosphere where I can contribute and belong.
