Townsend, a Boston College commit, played up to my expectations. Townsend is listed at 6’0 170, possessing the length and physical upside to stick on the outside. He is a smooth operator, maintaining excellent balance in his backpedal and transitioning well to a full-on sprint. He has a nose for the football, undercutting two routes to make a play on the ball, with one being a clutch INT late in the first half. I wrote “elite patience” in my notes, which will bode well for him at the next level to survive double moves and better receivers on a nightly basis. Townsend is one of the smoothest DBs in the state.
