Expert Analysis
Rob Howe | Prep Redzone Scout
Williams is an interesting prospect on both sides of the ball. His frame is capable of adding bulk and strength in a college training program, which adds to his upside and keeps open to the option for multiple positions on the next level. As a Des Moines East junior in 2025, Williams caught 15 passes for 241 yards (16.1 YPC) and four touchdowns. Defensively, he contributed 19.5 tackles, 10 of which were of the solo variety. He had 3.5 tackles for loss, a sack and a fumble recovery. Williams stands out for his athleticism during his 11th-grade highlight video. It helped him pace the Scarlet basketball team in rebounds this winter. On the gridiron, Williams is a matchup problem when lining up at tight end. He beats linebackers with speed and looms over defensive backs. Williams is a willing and capable blocker, and should take a step forward in that area with the aforementioned increased strength. The agility and power that help him beat defenders make him a handful when he’s on the D-Line as well.
