Very interesting prospect here with TAFT’s Malik Mahamid Malik Mahamid IL , who has the upside to be a versatile defensive chess piece at the collegiate level. Malik ran with the defensive line group, but used more of a stand-up edge rusher/OLB stance and really showed his quick first step during 1v1s. He is fast getting off the ball and is very quick to shoot his hands while using them effectively to disengage from blockers. Good bend when rushing off the edge. Mahamid also showed his ability to work his way inside when linemen get too wide. Very lengthy wingspan at 6’7″ and strong testing numbers including a 4.37 shuttle, 8’10” broad jump, and a 7.56 L-drill. Solid pass-rushing prospect who is sure to turn some heads this summer.
