The recent Kansas State commit lived up to his designation as a big time D1 prospect with his play against St. Mary’s, and helped keep his team in the game until the end. Malachi is an explosive athlete with a tremendous first step and ability to rush the quarterback. He definitely requires additional blockers on him, but what is great about his is that he has continued to improve his game against the run, and even has the ability to drop in pass coverage is asked with his speed and high level athleticism he has. The Wildcats landed a good one. Now up to 215 lbs and still getting bigger on a nutrition and strength program, Johnson finished the game with 9 tackles and a sack.

Pulled the trigger Wednesday night for the Wildcats of Kansas State to become their second overall commit in the 2028 class, and first on the defensive side of the ball. K-State was his first Division I offer over the course of the camp season, in which he threw down disruptive performances all summer. Our PRZ D-Block Combine MVP at the Lindenwood Camp in June, measured 6030 210, tested 1.70×10, 30 vj, 10’2 bj. Has a great frame on the hoof and stood out with his traits on the field. Comes off the edge with notable twitch and explosiveness, has some power and strength, can create great pressure.

Malachi Johnson Malachi Johnson 6'3" | 210 lbs | EDGE/DL Lift for Life | 2028 State MO was another member of the Lift for Life front seven who impressed on Friday. Johnson lined up off the edge where he posed a major threat as a pass rusher. He was able to use his combination of speed and strength to blow by opposing offensive linemen with ease, multiple several quarterback pressures on Friday. Johnson also showed the ability to stop the run, finishing the game with four solo tackles. Malachi holds an offer from Kansas State and I can definitely see more coming his way moving forward.
