who we’ve been high on for a while now and is deserving of more college attention.
While he may not have the length for a pure DL prospect, Gillespie could potentially be utilized as a stand-up edge rusher at the next level based on how athletic he is. He’s played DE like an edge rusher a lot this season and is doing so at a high level. Gillespie can dip under offensive tackles and bend around them or beat them to their spot inside. He’s a problem to block 1-on-1 and excels when he’s on an island with a tackle. Gillespie plays with a tremendous motor that will translate to college and should have D2 programs after his future services.

was another strong Class AAA defensive line performer in their narrow 3-0 win over Braxton County. If he were just a bit bigger he’d have a slew of offers to his name at this point and could very well earn some by the end of his senior season with the way he plays the game and position. Gillespie is explosive off the ball and plays with tremendous effort in pursuit of the ball. Braxton County simply couldn’t block him as he created several TFLs in the game and harassed the quarterback while forcing an interception in the game on a QB hit. Gillespie is a very athletic defensive lineman with good speed and quickness who could possibly play Edge at the next level in the right system.

‘s sophomore film from last year and he was on my radar coming into this season. Gillespie debuts in the 2025 Rankings at 109th overall and is the #13 defensive lineman in the class. He was a Class AA All-State Honorable Mention selection by PRZ WV and the WVSWA this season. A bit undersized at 6’1 230 for a defensive end and doesn’t possess the ideal length that you would want for that position but the kid can play. Gillespie is a tenacious pass rusher and has good block shed in run defense as well. Has the athleticism to be a stand-up edge rusher too. Works some pass-rush moves and is not just a bull rusher off the end. Plays very hard and to the whistle not taking any plays off. If he were a bit longer he’d be ranked very highly.

who earned first Team All-Conference in 2022 as a sophomore. The 6’0 220 defensive lineman created a lot of havoc last season from his defensive end position and consistently gets to the backfield. His burst off the ball is very quick and Gillespie does a great job shooting the gaps. He’s a very physical player and tackler that rarely misses a tackle. Gillespie does a nice job using his hands to block shed and is advanced for his age in that part of the game. His rush moves are also fine-tuned for a player his age which gives him a great jump on opposing offensive linemen. This 2025 prospect is an exciting talent and a name to watch for the next two years.
