About Luke

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Non-stop motor on both sides of the ball. Passionately protect my QB, not letting anyone touch him! Love making holes for my RB. Defensively use my size to dominate their RB and QB. My size, linked with my speed and agility makes me a great threat on the field.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Motivated by my faith, my family, my friends, and my team. Fierce competitor. Hard worker and determined. Always striving to better my skills. Team player all the way! Love to laugh, hunt, fish, and play electric guitar.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Church youth group. Previous 4-H member. Work full time in summer for Van Wall.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Learned an incredible amount being team captain. The guys look to their captains to set the tone. I learned to put my own struggles on the back burner for the benefit of my team. I learned to be a strong base of confidence to encourage others. Learned to keep hope alive at all times!! You can’t do anything alone on a football field! Team all the way.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Sophomore year, I broke my hand, and had to learn to play in a club. Didn’t miss one game. Great experience to learn that you can keep going by adapting around a barrier to get the job done. Junior year I broke my big toe. Very hard to have to sit on the side lines for two weeks. However, very rewarding to support my teammates in a different way by keeping them fired up on the sideline!

What type of college are you looking for?

A college that respects their students and athletes. A college that is full of energy and links arms to represent!
