Luke was impossible to miss out there. Oxford does a great job of establishing the run and sticking to the run even when it’s not working. So, Luke earned a ton of carries.
I liked what I saw from Luke. Adams has an excellent run defense, and Luke was under constant pressure. There were a few times when Luke broke a big play and gained some big yards after contact. When the run was blocked well, Luke followed his blockers and made the most of the play. When the play broke down, Luke did his best to fall forward, but I honestly didn’t see great contact balance. Still, Luke is a fringe D2 prospect in my eyes.

Oxford has honestly looked pretty good so far this season, so it made me curious on what Luke had been doing. After watching the film, it’s clear that Luke is a catalyst for this success. Luke runs hard and always finishes his runs. He is constantly falling forward for extra yards and delivering shoulder blows to anyone who stands in his way. He’s even getting the job done defensively as his film shows a ton of tackles and solid hits. Luke is a flat out ball player who has earned the right to wear the coveted #42 at Oxford. Coaches at the next level need to do some homework on this kid.

Oxford might have pulled the biggest upset of week 2 after dominating the defending D4 state champs 38-0. I am really curious to see how they follow it up against a solid Clarkston unit. Luke will be a big piece of this game without question. He is a hard charger who is probably still underrated on other recruiting sites. Look for Luke to have a big workload against a Clarkston defense that blanked Southfield A&T in week 2.
