Del Oro athlete Luke Galer Luke Galer 6'6" | 200 lbs | TE Del Oro-Bakersfield | 2026 State CA announced his decommitment from Sacramento State on Wednesday.
Galer committed to Sacramento State back in January and still has an official visit there for June 6. Shortly after decommitting, Galer announced an official visit to Washington State for June 13.
He also has offers from New Mexico, Montana and Northern Arizona among others.

Galer moves inside the top ten TE’s in the state with a well-rounded skillset and great upside. At 6’6” 210 lbs. he’s got the length colleges look for with the ability to add weight to his frame as he develops. Strong in-line blocker with good pad level and hand placement at the POA, takes good angles and can drive opponents off the ball with his initial strike. He’s a natural hands catcher of the football with the length and catch radius to make plays outside his framework. Effective route runner going across the middle that can find the soft spot in coverage but also shows he can be a great outlet for his QB on broken plays. He’s a plus athlete that flashes good coordination and feet as both a run blocker and route runner. Currently holds offers from UNLV and NAU but look for his recruitment to rise with a strong junior season.

Great upside and potential for the 6’6” 210 lb. TE out of Del Oro. Possesses elite length with the growth potential to put on significant weight without sacrificing his athleticism and mobility. He’s a mismatch for any high school defender in coverage that uses his length and body control to box out defenders and attack the ball at the catch point. Shows great hand eye coordination and concentration through the catch, obviously his reach gives him a large catch radius but his ability to adjust and quickly get his hands in position set him apart. Exploits the middle of the field by locating the soft spot in coverage and sitting in it to create an easy throwing lane for his QB. Recruitment is building with offers from UNLV and NAU this spring but he can quickly rise up rankings and P4 recruiting boards as a junior.

Galer is the next up and coming elite tight end prospect coming out of the Sacramento region, and has elite length, strong hands and a huge catch radius downfield with 50/50 ball skills and is extremely physical at the POA. He runs extremely well for his size and is fluid in space while able to make plays downfield against man coverage. He has been offered by UNLV already last week, and should really start to see traction come his way over the next couple of weeks.

It is only a matter of time until Galer picks up his first offer, and the 6’5 athlete will head into the ’24 season as one of the top athletes in the Sacramento region. He is a two sport star in football and basketball, and will only pack on more weight and size to his frame as he progresses through his prep career for Del Oro. On tape, Galer shows he can do tons of damage from the slot and is a big time mismatch against outside linebackers and safeties due to his size, box out abilities and physicality at the POA before making contested catches. Still developing as a route runner, he has tons of untapped potential at the tight end position and checks in just outside the top ten at his position within California. Look for Galer to really have a breakout season in 2024 for the Golden Eagles and gain next level traction.
