Faulkner is the definition of a tackling machine for Southern Nash. His instincts and physicality allow him to clean up everything between the tackles, making him the heart of the Firebirds’ defense. Tonight, he’ll face a test against a pass-heavy attack, but when the ball hits the ground, Faulkner will be there to shut it down. His ability to keep the run game in check will be a major X-factor in determining how effective Southern Nash can be defensively.

Faulkner is oe of the top linebackerss i nthe 2026 class and a rare 4-year starter for Southern Nash. His experience and leadership in the middle of the Firebirds’ defense set the tone every Friday night, Known for his ability to diagnose plays and finish with physicality, he’s a proven difference=maker against both the run and the pass.
This week, Southern Nash faces a tough test against Clayton. For the Firebirds to come out on top, Faulkner will need another big performance — controlling the box, shutting down the Comets’ rushing attack, and forcing them into long-yardage situations. If he plays to his usual standard, expect him to be one of the most impactful players on the field.

Luke has earned a ton of accolades as a linebacker and he excels with great physicality and a motor that doesn’t stop on both sides of the ball. The one thing that has been missing is the recruiting side for Luke, and this weekend’s showcase can go a long way in jumpstarting that part of his football career. I am excited to see how he moves and covers in space as a linebacker.

It’s amazing to us that Faulkner hasn’t blown up on the recruiting trail yet because he’s one of the most technically-sound linebackers in the class. He has prototypical size and moves well. His bread and butter is his run defense, where his gap integrity and ability to sort through the muck in the middle are among the best in the class. He also has an alpha mentality, with the ability to deliver huge hits without forgetting to wrap up and secure the tackle.

Faulkner might be the best pure tackler in the state. He’s also extremely capable as a fullback and could get some run there, in addition to linebacker, for a school that doesn’t want to use a scholarship on the position. I was looking for improvement in pass coverage when watching him this season and he showed that on film. He’s a thumper and that’s always going to be what draws college scouts, but the upside here is tremendous.

Faulkner’s early season junior film is an old-school teaching tape on how to hit people. He’s a linebacker at this level and the next, but he plays both ways and loves to initiate contact as a fullback as well. As a linebacker, he’s able to sit a bit further back than normal because he’s so quick to diagnose plays and once he makes a decision, there’s no hesitation. He’s going to make an FCS school very happy as an old-school thumper of a middle linebacker.
