Luke put together a solid performance and showed encouraging traits throughout the workout. He delivered the ball with good timing and was able to place throws where his receivers could make plays on it. During drills he stayed composed and did a nice job going through his progressions while keeping his mechanics consistent. He also showed the ability to push the ball downfield when given the opportunity.

A breakout sophomore campaign put Babin on the radar as one of the more promising arms in the region. With a strong arm, clean mechanics, and natural athleticism, Babin thrives both inside the pocket and on the move. He’s a dangerous dual-threat who can extend plays with his feet and deliver an accurate ball at all three levels. His deep ball and short-to-intermediate accuracy stood out in 2024, and with continued growth, he’s a prospect to watch heading into the fall.

A true gunslinger, Babin has all the traits you look for in a signal-caller. With elite arm talent, he sprays the route tree with accuracy, making every throw look effortless. His superb pocket presence allows him to extend plays while staying composed under pressure. More than just a passer, Babin is also a factor in the run game, using his athleticism to escape the rush and make plays with his legs when needed. His skill set has already drawn the attention of college programs, earning him offers from Baylor, Texas Tech, and Houston, with more likely to follow as he continues to develop into one of the top quarterbacks in Texas’ 2027 class.

Babin steps under center at Woodville after leading the JV to an 8-2 record as a freshman. Luke has the skill set to be an elite passer. He has excellent field vision, he navigates pocket pressure well showing great awareness and he has the athleticism to make plays with his legs outside the pocket. The 6-foot-2 rising sophomore, can make all the throws on the route tree and his touch on the deep ball is superb. Babin is set to make some noise down in Southeast Texas this season. College programs have taken notice this offseason. He saw Houston, Texas Tech and Baylor come to the table with offers this offseason.
