If you are looking for a subtle, sneaky tight end that will surprise you with a really nice play every now-and-again, look no further than Lukas Iliescu. In a limited role on varsity, we see that Iliescu is apt at slipping inside of down blocks to leak out for easy pitch-and-catches. He does so every-so-smoothly by using his hands well. Furthermore, we see that the young tight end can readjusts his routes in response to what he is seeing ahead of him and high points the ball adequately. As an in-line blocker, Iliescu has a good base and really works to get into his assignment, operating chest-to-chest. Additionally, he has a good upward bend at moments when drive blocking, showing that he is getting more comfortable activating power from his hips.

was the other linebacker to get some MVP consideration in the group–either way it was staying in the family. As was the case with his brother, this was the fourth time I’ve seen Lukas in a live setting since September. Measuring in at 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, the athletic ceiling is very high, here. He has the same impressive muscle and build, but is taller and longer. I’d argue that in 1-on-1’s against the running backs coming out of the backfield, Lukas had the best coverage skills of all the linebackers there. Again, having seen him play several times, I knew he moved well but was impressed with his recorded 4.69 shuttle.

– Played for Southe
– Also plays lacrosse
A member of the New Jersey AYF All-Stars the last two seasons, he has brought home consecutive National Championships. A versatile kid that I would love playing inside or outside backer right now, but given his athletic ability, I like him as a Sam right now. Does a good job of using his eyes to recognize pass plays quickly and drops to depth. Plays disciplined football, yet aggressive.

. He’s a little shorter and leaner than Koc–likely in the 5-foot-11 and 170-pound range (unverified)–but the look very similar on the field. In any All-Star format there will be athletes playing “out of position” at times, but a kid like Iliescu has a skill set that translates to play multiple positions in the defensive front seven. A multi-sport athlete, he was the strength to play as a Mike but then the build and athleticism to play in the boundaries. I’d have to see more of him to be able to definitely say it, but I think he could probably provide value as a defensive end in pass rush situations too.
