De Smet has quite the luxury at the tight end position as they have another very talented player coming up right behind Skornia. Liam Russo Liam Russo 6'6" | 210 lbs | TE De Smet | 2025 State MO showed some great flashes as a sophomore, finishing the year with six catches for 60 yards. Russo runs routes like a receiver, using smooth breaks to create separation from opposing defenders. He also has a high catch radius which helps him win in jump ball situations over smaller defenders. Russo is also dangerous after the catch, using his speed to turn up the field to pick up extra yards. Liam has yet to receive an official offer but he has received some college interest and is definitely a player to watch heading into his junior year.

Russo, a 6-5, 185-pound tight end, is a player we got a good look at during the Troy Buchanan 7 on 7 tournament and he was an important contributor in the Spartans’ runner-up finish. He’s got a good frame, of course, but will need to continue to add strength and weight over the next few years to prepare for college football. He is a three-sport athlete as he also plays basketball and runs track.
