It is quick tape, highlighting the senior WR’s two biggest catches of the night. However, Leyton shows off his top traits on those plays. One of those traits being the speed to take the top off the defense. He also shows the ability to high point the ball over a DB and catch the ball with his hands away from his body. We also see the way he can find the ball and adjust to it to make the catch. Don’t sleep on this under the radar senior WR.

Edgar was a run heavy offense in 2023 on their way to a D7 State Championship. However, their school record setting RB has graduated and the team will be looking for new leaders in the backfield. Where they won’t need new leadership and talent is out wide with Leyton Schuett Leyton Schuett 6'3" | 165 lbs | WR Edgar | 2025 State WI . The 6’3″ WR has speed to burn out wide and is a playmaker whenever he gets the ball. In 2023 he put up over 750 receiving yards on just 33 catches. That 23 yards/catch rate is a great example of how elusive and fast he is before and after the catch. Leyton is able to go up and get the ball. He created space with speed, route running, and his length. He has examples creating big plays in so many different ways. He is a hidden gem in northern WI that more teams need to know about. Don’t miss out on this kid.

The Edgar junior WR is coming off an already impressive season. He finished 2023 with 33 receptions, 759 yards, 11 TDs, and an insane 23 yards per reception. Leyton did all of that while Edgar was feeding their stud senior RB who set the school career rushing record on the way to a State Championship. This fall we are going to see new faces stepping into starting spots. One that doesn’t change is Leyton at WR1. He is the most proven offensive weapon returning to the field, and has the talent to give his new QB1 an easy target.
On tape, Leyton is a matchup nightmare for opposing defensive backfield. He has a long frame at 6’3″ that provides a large catch radius. The junior tracks the ball and high points it, even through contact, well. His size isn’t even where he creates his most consistent separation. That is with his quick twitch agility and change of direction that make him an explosive route runner. Schuett is able to stop on a dime and burst out of his breaks. His balance is strong, allowing him to carry a lot of speed through breaks too. That quick twitch and burst also give him a very effective release package off the line. Check out the film, get him out to camps, and keep an eye on the big play threat this fall.

Leyton didn’t have a huge stat night. He didn’t need to on offense. Karter had such a dominant night they didn’t have to show their hand in the passing game at all. If they needed to they had a dominant target to go at. Leyton is a very long target with speed to burn. He can take the top off the defense, and has the hands to make the difficult catches in traffic. Schuett also uses that speed and read/recognition traits to be all over the field as a safety. He is a reliable athlete to have deep covering a large zone. Keep an eye on the explosive junior.
