Potential and upside are two key words when you talk about this Mid-Tennessee talent. Committing recently to Chattanooga, Harris III is a tall, long and active defender that screams pass rushing upside but the Lions senior still has a ways to go before he reaches his maximum capabilities. This guy has gotten better and better over the last few years while at CPA, developing his body properly while continuing to enhance his athletic skill set. Harris III is a very good athlete that could have gone to college as a tight end but myself, Chattanooga and others see his best potential at defensive end where his length, bend and explosion can be used to rush after the quarterback. The Mocs gained a steal here with this Nashville based product as I see this guy’s best football days ahead of him with the potential to turn into an All-Conference player while also sporting the upside to take his game past the college gridiron.

Recently committing to Chattanooga, Harris, Jr has backed up that commitment with some strong play in the playoffs that has helped push his Lions team to the D2-Class AA state title game. Sporting great physical traits and upside, Harris, Jr is an intriguing talent that has his best football days ahead of him with the Mocs and myself seeing his biggest potential residing at edge linebacker. His size, length and natural strength can issue problems for opposing blockers but he also has the athleticism to drop and play in coverage as well. Harris, Jr is such a good athlete that he could honestly develop at tight end too, which is performing well at that position currently in the playoffs. This guy could be the X-factor next week when the Lions compete against Boyd Buchanan for the D2-Class AA state championship.

Explosive defensive tackle who would be best in a one-gap system. Quickly gets his hands up, uses them to protect himself, and moves well laterally. Displays good change-of-direction ability, keeps his feet moving, and chases the action out to the flanks. Flashes power on occasion.

People better start learning more about this Middle Tennessee edge rusher as he has the physical abilities and traits along with the football lineage to cause damage on the Power Five, D1 level. Still developing with the game of football, Harris oozes potential and upside with his tall and long frame along with his bend and ability to get around the edge. That potential started showing true last week as this CPA edge rusher landed offers from Memphis, Samford and Western Ky and I think many others have started to take notice. Harris has the burst, length and bend to develop into a feared edge rusher on the next level and I think this offseason of maturity has shown himself and college coaches that this Mid-Tennessee talent has what it takes to excel on the collegiate gridiron.
