About Landon

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am one of the most competitive players on the field, I can play anywhere asked, I am committed to raising the play of both myself and my teammates and winning is in my blood

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm the hardest worker in the classroom and on the field, I have a first one in last one out mindset, I can understand defensive and offensive schemes on the fly, I believe that at any moment of the game I can make the play that'll win the game and I believe that no one can guard me or score on me regardless of the team we're playing

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have been voted as a team captain for 2 seasons in a row now and I have also been an honor roll student since 2nd grade and I am also a member of student council as a class secretary, I received Academic All State Honors as well this past year

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Throughout the stretch between my sophomore to junior year and now my junior to my senior year, I have learned the value of commitment, teamwork, competing, leadership and respect

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Some of the challenges I have faced are confidence issues when the team is doing bad or I'm doing bad myself like after a bad play, I focus on that one play instead of every other play

What type of college are you looking for?

The school I'm looking for has a high level academic program, a tradition rich and winning football team, a team where I can learn and become a better player and a school that creates both great players and great people

Church has a nice season on both sides of the ball for Gilpin. The 6’1 175-pound WR/SS had 48 total tackles (37 solo, 11 assisted), 1 TFL, 8 INT, 5 PD, 3 FF, 1 FR, and 1 blocked punt. On the offensive side, he had 23 receptions for 406 yards and 3 touchdowns. Very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, good change of direction and jumping. Church is a defensive stud, using his athletic ability to prowl the field. Church has very good strength and it shows on his hard hits and very good tackling. He is a ball hawk, using his very good catching and ball tracking to pluck the ball out of the air. Very good in zone coverage, and uses his speed to keep up in man coverage. Church is an all-around great safety. With another strong season under his belt, I firmly believe he will get some more offers.
