Barajas is one of the more under recruited prospects in the Central Valley. At 6’1” 225 lbs. he’s an active defender with a great nose for the football. Strong and powerful frame allows him to deliver heavy contact on every play whether he’s taking on blockers or tackling a ball carrier. Plays with high energy flying to the football with a downhill trigger and violent finish. Diagnoses plays quickly while taking efficient angles of pursuit to close space. Proves he can be a three down defender with his abilities in coverage and as a run filler. Relentless in pursuit, he chases hard and can track down the ball to all areas of the field. Diagnoses plays quickly and makes a ton of plays at or behind the LOS. No offers yet, but he’s a pure football player that deserves more recruiting attention.

Barajas is still awaiting his first offer and is one of the top linebackers in northern California that remains uncommitted. He is a true plug in the middle that is fluid in space, moves well laterally and when weaving through traffic while a hard hitter in-between the tackles. The Manteca product has a violent play-style, can get off blocks and provides a good pass rush up the middle or off the edge as well with active hands and wins with both speed and power at the POA. He also shows solid hips and change of direction in space/coverage and is in line for a huge Senior season.

Barajas is one of the more balanced and violent linebackers across northern California and is a no-brainer next level kid that will be a big-time steal in college. He has a strong build and moves well for his size while a true plug in the middle of the Manteca defense and has been a multi-year starter. Barajas takes proper angles in the open field, shows a quick trigger and play recognition and does a good job at knifing into the backfield and making plays behind the line. He is a high motor kid that shows flat backside pursuit and has twitch when blitzing with active hands/hips around the edge and shows a violent finish at the POA.
