Shayne Pickering | Prep Redzone Scout
Kyler Garcia is a very productive and versatile defensive line prospect that helped lead a ferocious front seven for Pearl-Cohn this season.
Standing around 6-foot-4 and 280 pounds, he has a very good frame to work with at the next level when the opposing offensive lineman are bigger and longer with stronger anchors.
He has the versatility to play all over a three and four-man defensive front, but will likely pack on more weight and slide inside at the next level.
He gets solid initial pushback and that gets him in a favorable position from the beginning of each play, but will need to consistently be able to disengage from blocks to make plays on the ball at the next level. When he does disengage cleanly, he is a tackles for loss machine.
At the next level, he will need some time to add strong weight and get some development, but his potential is as a high-quality run stopping defensive tackle that has the versatility to be moved around the front.
