About Kwaku

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Heavy Run, Fast on pulls

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I always try to make sure I get the technical aspects of football drilled into my mind. I'll tell myself my cues before every play: shoulders square, gain ground on the first step, and stay low.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

As I've only played football starting my sophomore year, I faced adversity when first hitting the weight room, but I've gotten my numbers up exponentially since sophomore year

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college that offers majors in engineering

One of the most noticeable jumps in Asare’s game has been his physicality at the point of attack. As a sophomore, he showed flashes of power but often relied on his size alone to win battles, sometimes getting pushed back by more experienced defenders. Fast-forward to 2025, and he appears significantly stronger, with improved leverage and core stability that allows him to anchor against bull rushes and drive defenders off the ball. Footwork has been another area of clear progression. Asare occasionally looked a step slow in lateral movement, which limited his effectiveness in pass sets and pulling assignments. This year, his feet are noticeably quicker and more disciplined—he’s mirroring rushers better and showing improved balance in space. This upgrade has elevated his overall athleticism, making him more effective in zone schemes where quick redirects are crucial. While he’s still raw in some aspects, this improvement suggests coaching and reps are paying off.

Perhaps the most exciting development is Asare’s growing awareness and execution in advanced blocking concepts. His combo blocking has also taken a big step forward; he’s working in tandem with guards and tackles more seamlessly, disengaging from double-teams to pick up stunts or delayed blitzes. This shows a maturing football IQ—he’s not just reacting but anticipating, which is huge for an underclassman. That said, no prospect is perfect, and Asare still has room to grow. He occasionally plays high, which can expose his chest and allow savvy defenders to get underneath him for leverage. Refining his pad level and bend will be key to unlocking his full potential, especially against quicker edge rushers
