Kieghlin Hicks
About Kieghlin
Expert Analysis
Cory Lemer | Prep Redzone Scout
Syracuse and Boston College are two colleges with offers extended to the CBA-Syracuse product. Standing at 6’3″ 185-pounds Hicks has a solid build for the position.
Hicks displays an elite route tree understanding paired with elite separation. He dominates the Redzone and creates huge mismatches in that region. His size makes him a threat with 50/50 balls and catches in traffic. He has a quick burst and break and can create huge gains after initial contact.
Overall a solid prospect who can lineup across the LOS whether outside or in the slot. Hicks excels in man and press coverage. Size and skills should make him a threat at the next level.

A detail-oriented route-running WR that can get in and out of breaks with ease. Comparatively, Hicks was very effective in the red area, being able to separate from DBs at a quick rate. Hicks knows how to use his strong body to his advantage in out-leveraging opponents for the football and when facing press coverage at the LOS. Furthermore, Hicks showed the ability to line up in different bunch sets, out at the boundary, and in the slot. Altogether, he will show effort in blocking for his teammates in the screen and run game.

You can never blame a player for potential roadblocks to playing time or even more chances to touch the ball – when a team has multiple skill players committed to FBS programs and even more talent in the younger years like CBA-Syracuse had, there are a lot of factors you need to consider.

was his Jr year – clear WR3 on a team that is primarily run-first but has elite athletes at several positions.
Hicks has a lot of great tools – his frame at 6’3 185 is a great place to be heading into his senior season. He flashes good overall athleticism both on football tape and basketball tape. I think some strong reps show good ball skills and hands-on tape, but the sample size is smaller in this position.
I like Hicks’ athletic profile, and there is some good stuff on tape – He is a player that requires some projection at this point, but expect a big year as he gets to slot into potentially a WR1 role.

Limited film for Hicks, but a dominant offseason which included an offer from Boston College after camp performance there this summer, is a glimpse of the special player Hicks can be. Last season, it was hard to find reps with Bacheyie, Williams, and seniors Syair Torrence & Jason Brunson but he should replace the loss of Torrence and Brunson at the position. More opportunities for Hicks this season, and they certainly can make some key plays for the CBA Offense.

Hicks again will be stuck in a big group of FBS-level talents in the WR room at CBA-Syracuse. Although he did not fill up the stat sheet last season, Hicks has great tape and has been excellent at camps this spring/summer. Hicks is a long, lean WR prospect with a wide catch radius who showcases a good burst out of his breaks.

Hicks a prospect who did not get a ton of action last year in a really stacked CBA-Syracuse WR group picked up his first offer from Boston College after a strong camp performance.
