Wrote in my notes on Boyd this offseason, “Hardly any film out there. Needs re-eval in the fall.” Regardless, his frame and basketball background are what had my attention. Now that he has film, we have something to evaluate. Boyd plays in a triple-option style offense, so most of his damage is done as a runner, although he is absolutely a WR projection. He is still lanky and raw in his movements, but his long strides eat up grass and help him maintain separation down the field. I wouldn’t call his short-area quickness elite, but he has experience taking advantage of cutback opportunities and consistently creates yards for himself. Boyd is a massive hidden gem and will only get better. He is rocketing up my board.
