Another defensive back that shined when it came to facing off against the receivers,

is everything we expected and some. Khalyd displayed an uncanny ability to react quickly on the break, going step for step with the receivers and beating them to the ball. It looks very natural the way he changes directions and explodes out of a low position. A twitchy cornerback, Khalyd showed all afternoon that he can put himself in a position to make a play on the ball against the best receivers the Combine had to offer.
Don’t be surprised if Khalyd gets some solid reps in on the offensive side of the ball as well. He could double as a route runner with how fluid his movement is. He is another one of the undersized defensive backs, but once he puts on the size he will be considered a top tier presence on D.

and the camp-best 3.85 he ran in the shuttle. Proving it wasn’t a fluke or bad time, his other rep in the shuttle was a 4.0, which was the second best. Regardless of class or position–he finished atop of the leaderboard. Like the Iliescu brothers above, he is another prospect that I’ve seen play a bunch of times since September with the New Jersey 14U AYF All-Star team. Goodman-Ware is one of my personal favorites because of his personality, but his play on the field also dictates praise. He signed up as a defensive back, which is the position I had and still have him listed at, but he took a lot of reps with the wide receivers and made it a point to come up and tell me that he wanted to prove he was more than just a corner. I never once doubted that, and watching his route running and hands on the other side of the ball, was fun. He’s going to be a plus in all three phases of the game in high school.

There isn’t a kid on this initial list that I like more as a person, than Goodman-Ware. A positive, upbeat kid whose skill set as a cover corner match his personality. Plays like a rubber band and snaps himself into position. Phenomenal ball skills. Understands limitations with height and balances when to go for the INT or simply knock it down.

out of the Asbury Park program. He’s unofficially listed at 5-foot-7 and 140 pounds and was one of the clear stars of the tryout this past weekend. Whether he was lined up as a corner or a slot receiver he was winning the rep. Was hand-timed at a 4.51 in the forty with pads and a helmet on. Kid has that “it” factor about him and was a lightning rod of attention with his good personality. I think it’s a slam dunk he makes the 14U All-Star team and I can see him being a lock down corner, slot receiver the coaches can get creative with and/or a weapon in the return game. Could be a future big time prospect if tacks on some more size over the next few years.
