Kellen Nelson Kellen Nelson 5'10" | 150 lbs | ATH Blair Academy | 2027 State NJ of Blair Academy is one of those prospects that does so many things well, that he can probably play a multitude of positions in college with a great del of success. As a corner, Nelson runs very well – both in coverage and when in pursuit. That speed turns to power at moments, as he explodes into opponents to lay big hits with his full body. His ball skills are very strong as well, as we see him extend and contest anything in his area. Perhaps the most telling indicator of his ability is that Nelson plays solid team defense. We see on tape that he passes up offensive players through his zone, as he is reading is coverage key, successfully playing either match coverage or his true country coverage drop with a high degree of fidelity. Offensively he lines up at receiver, showing that he can separate. The impressive thing about Nelson’s offensive game is that when you think defenders have good pursuit angles, his speed actually makes them bad.
