Ferrell hauled in passes with ease in various windows, showcasing his wide catch radius. When the 6-4, 230-pounder moves well, and when in full stride, is difficult to stop. He’s a smooth route runner as well, making him an easy and reliable target for quarterbacks.

Playing as a tight end, he shows a good ability to make plays after he catches the ball. He is excellent after the catch by making defenders miss. He also shows good hands and makes difficult catches look easy. He also shows a good blocking ability, especially on the edge. Then, on defense, he shows a good ability to make plays as a defensive lineman. He gets off the ball quickly and uses his hands well to rip through the body of an offensive lineman. Ferrell is an impressive player on both sides of the ball.
