Houston is a power-based lineman who can anchor the interior of the defense as a run defender and rusher. His next-level frame naturally clogs lanes and forces offenses to adjust. He doesn’t only look the part- he plays it as well. Houston has grown-man strength and is a mountain mover in the trenches. His heavy hands seem to stymie linemen’s momentum before they even start. This ability to create stalemates is impressive.
When attacking the passer, he has solid pad level/leverage and an expanded reach to collapse pockets instantly. Though his game is rooted in strength, he moves well laterally and can chase plays outside his gap, highlighting his motor and effort. Though he may not be the highest ranked now, Houston’s 3-down value is rare and will catch some eyes this season

is another really talented 2027 defensive line prospect out of Muscle Shoals that has caught our eye. As a freshman, Houston is massive. He stands at around 6’3 290 and physically outmatches a ton of players he lines up against. Houston does a great job really using his size to his advantage in the trenches, he has an impressive amount of power, burst, and pursuit at his age. Already, Houston looks to be a really promising force against the run- he eats up a good amount of space and has the size to be able to beat offensive linemen and take down running backs with ease. Keep an eye on him next season, Houston has a lot in the tank and is set for a big sophomore year!
We recently featured impressive 2027 Alabama Running Back Davian Reynolds in a write up, but the speedy back isn’t the only incoming freshman at Muscle Shoals High School that people need to know about. Another future Trojan generating some buzz is big 6-foot-3, 290-pound (unverified) mammoth defensive tackle, Kaydence Houston. Houston, who has an 80-inch wing span, is a mammoth of a prospect that also puts up impressive reported weight room numbers to the tune of a 265-pound bench press, 405-pound squat and a 415-pound deadlift. While I can’t confirm those numbers, if he’s even remotely close, he’s one of the strongest current eighth-graders in the country.
