Kason is a running back that has shot up my personal board as a big time 2028 ball carrier. I watched Kason work out in the spring at the PRZMI camp at Lawrence tech and walked away very impressed. Kason is a big strong running back that runs through arm tackles with no issue. Kason also shows good speed and has the ability to score from any where on the field. Reed city runs an offense system designed to show off there running backs and I suspect Kason puts up big numbers the fall and continues his upward trend as a top back in the 2028 class. The sky is the limit for Kason and his coyotes team mates the fall and Kason is equipped to carry them a long way.

Kason is one of the most relentless runners in this class. Coming from a school that primarily lines up in the T and runs between the tackles, Coppick fits that mold beautifully. He is patient enough to let holes develop, and then flashes great burst through the gap, easily running through arm tackles and attempts at his ankles. Once he hits the open field, he goes from a power back running behind his pads to an all out sprinter. Deceptively elusive and incredibly hard to nail down in the open grass, Coppick is a legitimate challenge for defenses to figure out. He is in for an extremely productive 2026.

Kason was player I walked away very impressed with this past weekend. The big bodied Reed City running back was very impressive during individual drills. He made very sharp cuts and showed very light feet for a kid his size. I was also very impressed with Kasons mobility during drills verse linebackers. He regularly sent defenders out of position with a very shifty jump cut. With kasons performance on Saturday I feel he has put other 2028 backs on notice as a top back in the state.

Kason was a major weapon as a sophomore, serving as Reed City’s featured back and kick returner.
He’s a hard runner with above-average vision. Although Kason is not an elite athlete, I’m very impressed with his ability to navigate through traffic. Plus, he’s not afraid to put a shoulder down. This season, I’d love to see upgraded contact balance as well as speed. I’m confident that we’ll see an improved version of the player he was last year.

I can already see Kason being an underrated kid in this class. He is going to thrive in this run heavy offense Reed City is known to run. Going through his highlights, I came away incredibly impressed with his burst and acceleration at the RB position. He hits the hole hard and has the breakaway speed to get through all 3 levels in the blink of an eye. His vision is above average and he already has a pretty nasty stiff arm in his bag. Defensively he seems to read and react well and is able to play the ball. I will definitely be keeping up with Kason and his development.
