live on multiple occasions. Explosiveness and quickness creates LOS and backfield disruption. Has a linebacker body type and room to pack on size. Lines up at EDGE out of 2 and 3 point stance. Has flexed inside and rushed from the interior. Twitched up and loose in the hips. Changes direction very well and makes plays with multidirectional burst. Out-athletes comp often while also playing bigger and more physical than listed size. Delivers high levels of motor and effort. Closes on the ball with good juice. Also plays special teams. Built with athletic ability to play at the FBS level. High ceiling/potential type prospect highly regarded for his character and work ethic.

Norwood is an undersized defensive end at 5’11” 190 pounds that might be able to move to OLB at the next level. Pursues the ball and is a big time speed rusher off the edge. Hits with power and diagnoses well against the run.

Norwood has a calm demeanor until he puts his hand in the ground. He is a premier edge rusher with insane speed and get off. As he puts on the pounds most tackles will have their hands full trying to match his athleticism and strength. During drills he took coaching well and focused on getting past his man to the QB. This young man shows well and will continue to grab attention the more he gets eyes on him.

Probably the most unique prospect on the 2027 rankings big board right now, Richards High School’s 5’11, 190 lb. DE has untraditional size for the position, but Norwood has that dog in him, and it allowed him to seriously contribute on varsity for the South Suburban-Red competitor as a freshman, posting 12 tackles, a sack, and a TFL. Don’t let the size fool you, Norwood’s skillset is ready-made and more than able to succeed in the trenches at the varsity level. He’s a 3-4 DE who can operate with his hand in the dirt or as a standup EDGE, and can easily shed blocks once he locks his arms out post-contact. Norwood’s lightning-quick get-off combined with his strength allows him to bull rush and execute power rushes with success against larger OTs and TEs, and he has a rep of him backing a blocker down 5+ yards who was a head taller than him. The 190 lber. can dip and rip with success, as well as execute stunts around the LOS, closes with pace, and is an aggressive tackler with the strength to halt ball carriers in their tracks once he makes contact and allow extra gains and leg drive. I’m very interested and invested in seeing how Norwood’s frame, skillset, and college projection continue to develop as he ages. Fun name-to-know in the budding 2027 class right now.
