Downing is a high upside prospect with tremendous length and a projectable frame coming off the edge. He can quickly get off the ball, punch and use his length to keep blockers off his chest and does a good job playing flat backside and collapsing the pocket/mesh point quickly. He is a long strider that covers a ton of ground when making plays in space and can win on primary and secondary moves while showing natural bend and fluid body movements through out his rush and when eating up blocks on the edge. He checks into our rankings as a top 5 defensive lineman across Idaho and is very deserving to enter into our update.
