Overview: Kearney is a physical receiver who, out of necessity, shifted to runningback early in his junior season and continued to thrive. At WR, his start-stop ability and change of direction allow him to turn shallow crossers into big gains. He gets open deep too and can adjust to the ball mid-air. Kearney runs with an attitude behind Smyrna’s power run scheme, patient to the hole and urgent once he’s through it. He takes direct snaps and finishes off runs strong, often dragging a defender or two. In college, Kearney projects as a WR who can play outside or inside, but coaches will also want to get the ball in his hands on jet sweeps and end arounds.
